I started Get Lost because I was tired of travel sites that assumed every traveler is 28, broke, and ready to walk 14 miles a day. Real trips have mixed groups, tired feet, stroller wheels, and questions no brochure answers. This site is for the rest of us.
Bar Harbor, Maine
Most travel content assumes you're willing to walk 10 miles, skip lunch, and queue for two hours in direct sun. That's fine if you can โ but a lot of us can't. Or don't want to. Or are traveling with someone who needs a slower pace.
Get Lost is built on three principles:
If a "must see" isn't worth it, we'll say so. If a hotel is overpriced for what you get, we'll say that too. No sponsored fluff.
Every guide tells you about walkability, accessibility, transit, and where to stay so you're not stuck in a taxi all day.
Travel isn't just for the young and athletic. Our guides work for families, older travelers, people with mobility needs, and everyone in between.
I travel first, write later. Every guide comes from a trip I took myself. I note the practical stuff as I go โ distances, bench counts, bathroom locations, whether the subway station has an elevator.
My animated self does the walking tours. I script each walk after the trip, then my caricature narrates it for the video. The idea is that even if you can't make the trip yet, you can "walk" it with me from your couch and decide whether it's worth the journey.
The community fills in the gaps. I can't go everywhere โ that's why I built a system for other travelers to submit their own stories. Real tips from real people who just got back.
Affiliate links keep the lights on. When you book a hotel, tour, or insurance through one of our links, we earn a small commission. It doesn't cost you anything extra, and it means I don't have to run pop-up ads or pester you with a paywall.
